Awaiting the ice storm...and all that came before

Madelyn had her two month check up last week and she got a great report. She weighed 10 pounds and 10 ounces which is in the 35%tile. She is 22.5 inches which is about 50% and I can't remember what her head was, but it was small. I thought that was funny because Andrew's head was always in the 99th %tile! So we're just supposed to keep doing what we're doing! Madelyn has slept between 7 and 8 hours every night this week! I am so happy about that!
The other day I was working on one of my big organizing projects (I'm consigning all A & M's outgrown clothes at Rhea Lana in both Conway and NWA. I have completed everything for Conway's which is in two weeks and after that I will just consign what didn't sale at NWA's). While I was inputting everything into the computer, Madelyn passed out just like this on her blanket on the floor! She loves to lay on her blanket and kick and coo and smile! It's so sweet! Then she just fell right to sleep for about an hour or so!
Just a sweet picture of Madelyn!

Now, this looks like just a sweet picture of Andrew, but this is his "I just beat my mommy in this battle" look. I was trying to get him dressed for school yesterday- and be on time for once- and so I laid out his clothes like I always do as I wake him up. I got him out of his bed and laid him down to change his diaper (his ouper as he calls it!) and then put his clothes on. Well, I have recently learned what a "fussy" boy he is when it comes down to his clothes- all articles of clothing, including his diaper- it must have the correct Sesame Street character on it. He threw a screaming fit about the pants that I was trying to get him to wear. I'm talking kicking, hand waving, yelling, tears, etc... and the pants were just his ordinary jeans. I pulled out a different pair (again, ordinary pants) and he refused to wear those. I'm pretty sure they got thrown across the room. He looked in his drawer and pulled out his Cars pajama pants and the top. He wanted to wear that. I tried very hard to explain that you don't wear your PJ's to school, but he did not care at all. So, after 45 minutes of trying to get him in something cute. He ended up wearing his PJ's to school. There was also no getting shoes and socks on him, so I just put them in his bag and was going to put them on when we got to school. Well, as I'm backing out of the driveway, he starts yelling "I want my boots, Mommy", over and over and over again. So, I reversed down the street and back up the driveway and went in and got his Uggs. His pajama pants didn't fit over his uggs and were too big to be tucked in, so they just stopped at the top of the boots. I wish I had a picture of that. He looked just hilarious! He was so proud of his outfit too. He walked in to school and just stopped in front of everyone, as if to say "look at what I picked out to wear." Ahh, two year olds....
Ahh, two month olds....

Andrew got my camera today and wanted to take "peek-sures of Mally". He has recently started calling Madelyn- Mally. I don't know why, because we don't call her Mady or anything, but he wants to call her Mally. I think it's kind of sweet!
This is him after I took the camera away and asked if I could get a picture of him and Madelyn. He did not comply.
So now we're just enduring the ice storm. Right now it's just a wintry mix, but schools are canceled, so we'll be enjoying our day at home. I cleaned the whole house, did all the laundry, went to the grocery store, and made a big pot of stew (which Andrew loved...yea!!!). So, we are ready for our days inside. I got stuff to make and decorate cookies with Andrew and I've got absolutely nothing pressing on my to-do list. I plan to just enjoy our time at home together...unless the power goes out, because no power=no Elmo and no Elmo=meltdown!

Thanks for the idea about using trash bags as snow pants! I was NOT wanting to go buy anything this late in the year. We'll have to try it tomorrow!
Madelyn is gorgeous! I think her and Andrew look a lot alike. I love Andrew's outfit! McCoy is really getting particular about certain things, too. I was pretty sure he was going to wear his houseshoes to Wal-Mart the other day but I talked him out of it!
