A Great Day For A Pie!

Today was quite the day. I woke up and heard this sound that I assumed was one of my cats that was locked up somewhere. It was not my cat. It was Madelyn. She was miserable. She was coughing, conjested, and her nose was running. She just couldn't get comfortable. She sat on the floor while I got dressed and just whimpered until she just laid down and gave up. I found out the other day at Andrew's 3 year check-up that he is anemic. I thought that was odd, because I'm anemic and it causes me not to have any energy and this kid has loads of it! He has to take iron- in liquid form- twice daily. I gave it to him last night and he did fine, just didn't like the taste. I gave it to him this morning and about 2 minutes later, he projectile vomited all over the bathroom floor! He looked at me and said, "that iron's gross momma. I spit it up." I had to change his clothes. I needed to mop too, but there wasn't time, so I just used towels to get it as best I could. I loaded the kids up, because I had some work to do and I thought maybe Madelyn would be alright until I could get her to the doctor. I called and the only open appointment was at 3:00...the same time that Andrew had his ENT appointment. I called Jason and said we'd just each take a kid, which one did he want. He chose to take Madelyn, because she is easier! About that time, Mrs. Betty, a wonderful lady from our church, came in and brought me a homemade coconut cream pie!! I LOVE coconut cream pie and Mrs. Betty's pie is the absolute best! I was thrilled that she thought of me! Here is a picture of her wonderful pie! As soon as she left, Madelyn's teacher brought her to me and she had fever. I picked her up and she just buried her head in my chest and whimpered. I took her home and she slept for about 3 hours. Jason met me to get Madelyn and take her to the doctor and I took Andrew to the ENT. They did his hearing test and he did well, just a little off because he has a lot of pressure behind his ears. While we were waiting to see the doctor, Jason called and said that Madelyn has another ear infection and they referred her to the ENT. I told him just to bring her on up since we were already there. The doctor got and looked at Andrew. He needs tubes and his adenoids out. Then, he looked at Madelyn- she didn't look good! And said that we could just schedule her tubes the same time Andrew gets his and he'd get her in for her appointment this week. She is going in Wednesday, because she can't get tubes if she is conjested like she is. But, it looks like Friday we're getting two sets of tubes and one adenoidectomy! Like I said, it was a great day for pie!

Isn't it great when God sends special blessing to us through his children just when we need it. You will certainly be remembered in prayer as the children have their surgeries. Pray that all goes well and for speedy recoveries.

Loved your pictures.
